C HINESE DOCTORS LANDED IN NIGERIA TODAY  Despite opposition by the Nigerian Medical Association Despite opposition by the Nigerian Medical Association, the visiting 15-member medical team from China will arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on a chattered Air Peace aircraft on Wednesday (today). The personnel, who are experts in infectious diseases, respiratory illness, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, general surgery and anesthesiology, will be coming with their drugs, and equipment to carry out COVID-19 tests on the staff of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation in the country. Buhari's daughter meets family after self-isolation

NA daughter of Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has completed two weeks of self-isolation and been reunited with the first family, a spokesperson said. She had returned from the UK last month and gone into isolation in compliance with the country’s directive to passengers arriving from countries with confirmed coronavirus cases. Aliyu Abdullahi, the spokesperson for First Lady Aisha Buhari, said she was "normal, healthy and well", but did not disclose her identity. The first couple have five children together: four daughters and a son. Mr Abdullahi said the president's daughter had gone into isolation despite her “privileged” status. WHAT MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE NEW VIRUS KNOWN AS HANTAVIRUS Hantaviruses are a family of viruses spread mainly by rodents and can cause varied disease syndromes in people worldwide.  Infection with any hantavirus can produce hantavirus disease in people. Hantaviruses in the Americas are known as “New World” hantaviruses and may cause  hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) . Other hantaviruses, known as “Old World” hantaviruses, are found mostly in Europe and Asia and may cause  hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) . Each hantavirus serotype has a specific rodent host species and is spread to people via aerosolized virus that is shed in urine, feces, and saliva, and less frequently by a bite from an infected host. The most important hantavirus in the United States that can cause HPS is the  Sin Nombre virus , spread by the deer mouse.
